Aston Martin Vantage 8-to-6 Grille Conversion Kit

Update your existing eight-bar grille to the later six-slat appearance with the Aston Martin Vantage 8-to-6 Grille Conversion Kit. Seven purpose-designed supports reposition your original horizontal bars, so there is no need to source a complete replacement 6-slat grille.

If your original supports are brittle or you are already rebuilding the grille, this is an opportunity to refresh one of the most noticeable details of an earlier VH Vantage.

What the conversion offers

• Later 6-slat appearance: reuse six of your existing eight horizontal bars in a new layout.
• Two original bars left spare: keep them for future repairs as individual grille bars become harder to source.
• No drilling or bar cutting: a normal conversion uses a complete original 8-slat grille without trimming its horizontal bars.
• Purpose-designed carbon-fibre reinforced polymer supports: High-strength, carbon-fibre reinforced engineering polymer, with geometry developed specifically to set the new bar spacing.

Count your horizontal slats

For VH Aston Martin Vantage cars currently fitted with an 8-slat / 8-bar grille. Check the grille itself rather than registration year, as it may have been changed during the car’s life.

To retain the original eight-bar appearance, choose our 8 Slat Grille Supports. For a car already fitted with a genuine-style six-bar grille, use our 6 Slat Grille Supports. This conversion is not for the factory 6-slat grille.

How it works

The seven original vertical supports are replaced with AstonDIY conversion supports. Six of the original eight horizontal bars are rebuilt into the new spacing, creating a 6-slat layout while leaving two bars spare. No new 6-slat horizontal bars are required.

Why AstonDIY prefers this configuration

Original 8-slat bars have an underside locating shelf that engages with the support geometry. In Josh’s experience, this gives the conversion particularly positive bar engagement and good fitment.

Josh previously used a genuine-style 6-slat support arrangement and now runs this conversion on his own Vantage because he prefers its fit and engagement. It is AstonDIY’s preferred Vantage grille configuration. The factory 6-slat grille also retains its bars; this preference reflects owner and development experience.

What's included

One complete set of seven AstonDIY 8-to-6 vertical grille conversion supports. Sold as a complete set only. Your existing horizontal grille bars are reused; new bars are not supplied.

Installation

The grille must be unbolted and removed. Remove the original vertical supports and rebuild the existing horizontal bars into the conversion supports. With all eight original bars present, no drilling or horizontal-bar cutting is required.

Already missing a horizontal bar?

The conversion may offer useful flexibility because the finished grille needs only six bars. In some cases, a remaining longer bar can be carefully trimmed to replace a missing bar needed for the layout. This is only for an already incomplete grille, not part of the normal conversion, and suitability depends on which components remain.

Not every damaged or incomplete grille can be converted without additional work or parts. Contact AstonDIY before ordering if a bar is missing.
