Aston Martin Vantage 6 Slat Grille Support

A broken or missing vertical grille support can put a difficult-to-replace horizontal slat at risk. The Aston Martin Vantage 6 Slat Grille Support replaces brittle uprights with strengthened carbon-fibre reinforced polymer components, helping protect your existing bars and potentially avoid sourcing a complete grille.

Why replace ageing supports?

• Address known weak areas: the replacement geometry is deliberately thickened where original supports commonly crack or snap.
• Protect scarce grille slats: individual horizontal bars are now extremely difficult to source. These supports are also described as grille uprights or spacers.
• Established owner-led design: hundreds supplied to Vantage owners, with extended use on AstonDIY’s own Vantage.

Original plastic becomes brittle with age and exposure. Rusted or seized mild-steel fixings can also load and split a support during dismantling. Positions 2, 4 and 6 are especially vulnerable to being lost because they are not positively attached to the vehicle like the fixed supports.

6-slat or 8-slat?

Count the horizontal grille slats before ordering. This product fits VH V8 and V12 Vantage cars with the factory-style 6-slat / 6-bar grille. Choose by the grille fitted, not model year: grilles may have been changed.

• Six horizontal slats: use this product.
• Eight horizontal slats: use our 8 Slat Grille Supports.
• Eight slats, but you want the six-slat appearance: use our 8-to-6 Conversion Kit, which uses original 8-slat bars with different support geometry.

The factory 6-slat and 8-slat bars differ physically. Their support systems are not interchangeable; fitting these supports alone does not convert an 8-slat grille.

Individual support or Full Set?

Select positions 1–7, numbered left to right in the product diagram, or choose Full Set. We recommend the Full Set for refurbishment: if one support has become brittle enough to fail, the others have experienced similar ageing. Replacing them together reduces the risk of another missing support and potential slat loss, without assuming another will definitely fail.

What's included

• Full Set: seven carbon-fibre reinforced polymer vertical supports, plus A2 stainless-steel stud/nut/washer hardware for positions 3 and 5 where applicable.
• Individual position: the selected support and any new hardware specifically required for that position.
• Original grille bolts/fixings are reused where required. Horizontal slats and adhesive are not included.

Material, colour and appearance

These are not exact visual replicas of the factory supports. High-strength, carbon-fibre reinforced engineering polymer gives a dark grey/black finish, compared with the generally lighter grey originals. The profile is slightly more substantial and boxier because known weak areas have been strengthened. Supports can be painted for a closer colour match.

Installation and slat retention

The grille must be unbolted and removed to replace the supports and retaining components properly. Existing horizontal bars locate into the replacements; alignment of all seven supports and six bars matters. The factory 6-slat arrangement can be fiddly to assemble.

The original push-fit slat-retention arrangement remains. These supports address brittle uprights; they do not redesign or positively lock the horizontal bars in place. For additional retention, we recommend considering a small amount of suitable automotive adhesive, such as CT1 or Tiger Seal, at the rear of the support/slat interface during assembly. Bonding is optional; adhesive is not supplied.
