Aston Martin Vantage 8 Slat Grille Support

Repair a broken or missing grille upright while keeping the original eight-bar appearance. The Aston Martin Vantage 8 Slat Grille Support replaces ageing plastic supports with strengthened carbon-fibre reinforced polymer components, helping protect difficult-to-source horizontal bars and potentially avoid replacing the complete grille.

Why replace ageing supports?

• Strengthened around known weak areas: an established AstonDIY repair design for the vertical supports, also known as grille uprights or spacers.
• Keep your existing horizontal bars: replace the failed support rather than source another complete grille.
• Repair one position or refurbish the set: all seven support positions remain available individually.

Original supports can become brittle with age and crack during use or disassembly. Corroded mild-steel hardware can seize, loading the plastic until it splits or pulls apart. Because the supports locate the horizontal bars, failure can put scarce grille components at risk.

Count your grille slats

This product is for VH Vantage cars currently fitted with an 8-slat / 8-bar grille. Count the horizontal bars before ordering; registration year alone is not reliable because grilles may have been replaced or upgraded.

If you have six horizontal bars, use our 6 Slat Grille Supports. Factory 6-slat and 8-slat bars differ physically, so their support kits are not interchangeable.

Prefer the later 6-slat appearance? We recommend our 8-to-6 Conversion Kit. Its seven purpose-designed supports reposition six of your existing 8-slat bars, leaving two bars spare. No additional 6-slat bars or complete genuine 6-slat grille are needed.

The conversion is Josh’s preferred grille solution and is fitted to his own Vantage. He values its fit, later appearance and particularly positive grip on the existing bars. This is his experience, rather than a claim that the factory 6-slat grille does not retain its bars.

Individual support or Full Set?

Select positions 1–7, numbered left to right in the product diagram, or choose Full Set. We recommend the Full Set for refurbishment: if one support has become brittle or failed, the others have experienced similar ageing. Replacing them together reduces the likelihood of returning to replace another, without assuming it will definitely fail.

What's included

• Full Set: seven carbon-fibre reinforced polymer vertical supports, with A2 stainless-steel stud/nut/washer hardware for positions 3 and 5.
• Individual position: the selected support, with the position-specific hardware where applicable.
• Some original grille bolts/fixings and your existing horizontal bars are reused. Horizontal bars are not supplied.

Material, colour and appearance

These are not exact visual replicas of the factory supports. High-strength, carbon-fibre reinforced engineering polymer gives a dark grey/black finish rather than the lighter grey generally seen on originals. The design and manufacturing method produce a slightly more substantial, boxier profile, strengthened around known weak areas. Supports can be painted for a closer colour match.

Installation

The grille must be unbolted and removed to replace the vertical supports and retaining components properly. Existing horizontal bars are reused with the replacement supports, along with the original fixings where required.
