Aston Martin Vantage Headlight Repair Kit

Broken mounting points should not mean replacing an otherwise serviceable Aston Martin headlight assembly. The Aston Martin Vantage Headlight Repair Kit restores the local mounting structure with an accurately located carbon-fibre reinforced polymer component, avoiding the cost of a complete headlight replacement.

Purpose-designed for the VH Vantage, it replaces the relevant headlight mounting point and the adjacent headlight washer mounting points together. It is intended as a permanent repair, with approximately two years of use on AstonDIY’s own Vantage without issue.

Why the original mounts fail

As these cars age, the original moulded plastic mounting posts and tabs can become brittle. They may crack or snap during headlight removal, after a knock or when pressure is applied. A threaded insert backing out or seizing to its mounting bolt can also damage the surrounding plastic.

A broken headlight mount can leave the lamp loose or incorrectly supported. The same ageing plastic surrounds the adjacent washer mounting area, where deterioration can affect the washer assembly’s support and positioning. Inspect the mounting area to establish the cause: not every loose headlight or washer fault is caused by this particular failure.

An accurately located headlight bracket repair

• Matched to the original housing: developed from a scan of the headlight geometry, with curvature that follows the housing.
• Self-locating design: references an existing housing edge to position the replacement component accurately.
• Headlight and washer mounts restored together: replaces the vulnerable local structure, not simply one broken post, restoring the relative positioning of both assemblies.
• High-strength construction: carbon-fibre reinforced engineering-polymer construction with a brass heat-set threaded insert for the main headlight mounting bolt.
• Ready to install: no modification or preparation of the AstonDIY component is required. Existing vehicle hardware is reused.

Compatibility

Compatible with all VH-generation Aston Martin Vantage models, 2005–2018, including V8 and V12 variants. Choose Left, Right or Pair to suit the mounting area being repaired.

Left, Right or Pair?

Left and Right are available individually. We recommend considering the Pair option if one original mounting area has become brittle enough to fail: the opposite headlight is of a similar age and has experienced similar conditions.

This is a practical opportunity to address ageing mounts on both sides, rather than a prediction that the other side will definitely fail. The combined headlight and washer mount design follows the same reasoning: deterioration in one point can indicate deterioration in the surrounding original plastic.

What's included

• Left or Right: one manufactured carbon-fibre reinforced polymer repair component for the selected side, with the appropriate brass heat-set insert installed.
• Pair: one left and one right repair component, each with its insert installed.
• Original vehicle screws and bolts are reused.
• Adhesive is not included.

Installation

The headlight must be removed from the vehicle. Preparing the original headlight mounting area takes approximately 20 minutes; this does not include removing/refitting the headlight or adhesive curing time.

1. Carefully remove the remaining brittle or broken original mounting-post material, leaving a clean, smooth surface on the housing. A small sanding disc or rotary tool makes this easier, but suitable hand tools such as side cutters or a blade can also be used. Specialist machinery is not essential.
2. Position the ready-made repair component against the referenced edge and curvature of the housing so that it self-locates.
3. Bond it into position using a suitable automotive adhesive, such as CT1 or Tiger Seal, following the adhesive manufacturer’s preparation and curing instructions.
4. Allow the adhesive to cure fully before refitting the original headlight and washer hardware. The main headlight bolt threads into the installed brass insert; the washer bracket uses the original self-tapping screws into the carbon-fibre reinforced polymer component.

Material and construction

The component is manufactured from high-strength, carbon-fibre reinforced engineering polymer. A brass heat-set threaded insert is installed at the main headlight mounting point. The adjacent washer mounting points accept self-tapping screws directly into the carbon-fibre reinforced polymer; they do not all contain brass inserts.
