Aston Martin DB9 & DBS Airbox Delete Kit

Give your VH DB9 or DBS a noticeably louder induction sound with the Aston Martin DB9 & DBS Airbox Delete Kit. This complete system replaces both factory airboxes with six carbon-fibre reinforced polymer components and two specified Ramair filters, making future filter servicing easier.

Significantly lighter than the original airbox assemblies, the conversion fits without cutting or drilling and is reversible. It also offers a lower-cost alternative to replacing damaged or cracked factory airboxes.

Complete kit — Ramair filters included

Every kit is supplied with the specified Ramair filters, giving you the intake configuration AstonDIY designed and tested the system around. Their inlet/bellmouth geometry provides a smooth transition into the intake.

AstonDIY has encountered airflow-related fault codes with unsuitable alternative filter arrangements. Supplying the known filter configuration reduces that risk; this does not mean every third-party filter causes a fault.

What's included

• Six carbon-fibre reinforced polymer components: three per side, including separate mounting brackets assembled by the customer.
• Two specified Ramair filters with supplied hose clamps.
• The complete conversion for both airboxes. Specified original vehicle hardware is reused during assembly.

Engineering and manufacture

The components are manufactured from high-strength, carbon-fibre reinforced engineering polymer, using AstonDIY’s additive manufacturing process for dimensional accuracy and repeatable functional parts. The integrated bellmouth/filter arrangement is designed for a smooth airflow transition; no verified BHP or airflow increase is claimed.

Retain the specified factory airbox hardware, including the half-threaded screws and 8 mm intake-clamping bolt, to assemble the separate components. The assembly mounts around the crash can using its existing mounting bolts; secure the Ramair filters with the supplied hose clamps.

Follow the guide’s thread-locking compound/Loctite instructions for the relevant crash-can bolts. Do not overtighten the crash-can fixings or the moving door section, which must remain free to move.

Keep the left and right intake pipework positioned symmetrically. Avoid twisting, kinking or obstructing either pipe. A significant difference in airflow readings between sides can trigger a fault code, so correct alignment is an important part of installation.

ECU and performance

No ECU remap is required for normal installation. Correctly installed with the specified filters, the system is designed to operate without warning lights; correct filter selection and pipework alignment remain important.

The main benefits are induction sound, easier servicing and reduced weight. The filter flow chart in the gallery is not a DB9/DBS power test or evidence of a gain from the complete kit.
