Manufacturer fault-analysis procedure
Test sequence and decision path
1. Connect the WDS and confirm that P2812,
P2814 or P2815 is logged. Clear the logged fault
code.
2. Set datalogger to monitor the parklock status signal. Switch on the ignition. Select and deselect
Park several times. The PARKST signal should follow the changes in Park status.
If the signal does correctly follow changes in Park
status, repeat the test again to ensure that the
problem is no longer present.
If the signal does not change status, go to step 3.
3. Check the emergency park release lever is in the
released position. Also check the emergency
release cable for jamming, stiff operation, etc.
If the emergency park release system operation is
suspect, Service the lever and cable as necessary.
Clear the fault code and retest to ensure that the
problem is resolved.
If the emergency park release system is operating
correctly, change the mechatronic unit. Clear the
fault code and retest to ensure that the problem is
resolved.
4. If the fault code is logged agan, contact Aston
Martin Technical Support.
Open the corresponding manual page for wiring diagrams and figures
P2814 or P2815 is logged. Clear the logged fault
code.
