P2162 Vehicle speed sensor A-B correlation.

Cautions and notes

NOTE: The vehicle speed may be derived from the
wheel speed sensors or from the vehicle speed sensors
in the gearbox (manual cars) or in the differential unit
(auto cars). P2162 detects that an unacceptable difference is found when comparing the two speed signals

Test sequence and decision path

1. Connect the WDS and record all logged DTCs.
Ensure that code P2162 is logged.

2. Set datalogger to monitor and compare the vehicle speed signals from the wheel speed sensors
and from the vehicle speed sensors.

3. Run a brief road test and log both vehicle speed
signals. Stop the test and compare the results with
the actual speeds achieved during the test. One
speed signal source will be obviously incorrect.

4. Service the relavent circuit and repeat the comparison test to ensure that the problem is
resolved.
