P2135 Throttle Pedal Position Sensor Voltage Correlation.
Test sequence and decision path
1. Connect the WDS and record all logged DTCs.
Ensure that code P2135 is logged and note which
PCM has recorded the fault.
2. Using datalogger, record the throttle potentiometer signals for the affected engine bank. During a
KOEO test, open and close the throttles several
times. Compare the recorded data with the following specification.
The TP signals should change within the range
0.25 - 4.75 volts.
The voltage rise in one TP signal should be
synchronised with an equal voltage fall in the
other TP signal.
Neither TP signal should exhibit transient spikes
or other abnormalities.
If both signals meet the above specification, go to
step 3.
If either signal fails to meet the above
specification, Service the potentiometer or circuit
as necessary, Clear the P2135 code and run a
KOER test to ensure that the problem is resolved.
3. Set datalogger to record the throttle potentiometer signals for the affected engine bank. Take the
vehicle on an extended road test. Use the ‘Road
Test Mode’ to safely switch on and off the datalogger during the test. Compare the recorded data
with the above specification looking for signs of
intermittent faults.
If any fault is indicated, service the potentiometer
or circuit as necessary. Clear the P2135 code and
run a KOER test to ensure that the problem is
resolved.
If no fault is indicated, the cause of the P2135
code is not present at this time and testing is
complete.
Open the corresponding manual page for wiring diagrams and figures
