P1709 Clutch switch fault during KOEO self-test.

Test sequence and decision path

1. Connect the WDS and confirm that P1709 is
logged. Clear the logged fault code.

2. Set datalogger to monitor the clutch switch signals. Switch on the ignition. Press and release the
clutch several times. The CSTT and CSBT signals
should follow the changes in clutch status.
If the signals do correctly follow changes in
clutch status, repeat the test again to ensure that
the problem is no longer present.
If the signals do not change status, go to step 3.

3. Check the physical adjustment of the clutch
switches.
If the switches are maladjusted, service the switch
assemblies as necessary. Repeat the clutch switch
signals test to ensure that the problem is resolved.
If the clutch switches are physically serviceable
and correctly adjusted, go to step 4.

4. Check continuity of the clutch switch signal lines
from C1491-2 to Primary PCM connector C0635-
29 for the top of travel signal and from C0667-2
to C0635-2 for the bottom of travel signal. Also
check from C0667-1 and C1491-3 to primary
PCM connector C0635-41 for the signal return
line.
Service any defects and repeat the clutch switch
signals test to ensure that the problem is resolved.
