What Aston Martin code P1707 means
Parklock Engage/Release Failure (Without Driver Request)
DB9 preliminary diagnostic manual · section 2-264
Manufacturer fault-analysis procedure
Manual fault definition
P1707 Park / Neutral signal fault.
Test sequence and decision path
1. Connect the WDS and confirm that P1707 is
logged. Clear the P1707 code.
2. Set the datalogger to monitor the Park/Neutral
Status signal (PARKST).
3. With the engine running, switch between Park
and Neutral several times. Look for a change in
state of the Park/Neutral signal.
If the signal changes state reliably, the fault is not
present at this time. Repeat the test several times
to ensure that the problem is resolved.
If there is no change in state, carry out the following checks:
Check the transmission fluid level, top up if
necessary (Workshop Manual Procedure).
Recheck the park/neutral switch operation.
If the switching operation between park and
neutral is now reliable, testing is complete.
If the switching operation is not reliable, replace
the mechatronic unit, repeat the park to neutral
switching test to ensure that the problem is
resolved.
If the fault recurs, replace the gearbox. Retest to
ensure that the problem is resolved.
Open the corresponding manual page for wiring diagrams and figures
logged. Clear the P1707 code.
