P1703 - Brake switch out of self test range.

Cautions and notes

NOTE: During a KOER Test, the brake pedal must be
fully pressed and released at some time during the test.
If this is not done, a P1703 will be logged.

Test sequence and decision path

1. Connect the WDS and record all logged DTCs.
Ensure that P1703 is logged.

2. Note and then clear all logged DTCs.

3. Using WDS, run a KOER test. Ensure that the
brake pedal is fully pressed and released at some
time during the test.

4. Read any logged DTCs and check if P1703 is
logged.
If P1703 is not logged, the cause of the problem
was incorrect procedure during a KOER test.
If P1703 is logged, service the brake switch
circuit as necessary.
If no circuit fault is identified, check and if
necessary reset the brake switch adjustment.
Clear all logged DTCs and run the KOER test
again, including correct brake switch actuation,
to ensure that the problem is resolved.
