(PCM).

Test sequence and decision path
1. Connect the WDS and confirm that P1578 or
P1579 is logged. Note all Logged DTCs and then
clear the DTC memory.
Set the datalogger to monitor all Throttle Position
signals on both engine banks.
Disconnect the air trunking to the throttle bodies.
2. Switch on the ignition and monitor throttle movement whilst a collegue presses and releases the
throttle pedal several times.
If throttle movement does accurately follow pedal
movement, extend the test to see if the cause of
the P1578 or P1579 codes can be reproduced.
If either throttle movement does not accurately
follow pedal movement, replace the affected
throttle body.
Repeat the throttle movement test to ensure that
the problem is resolved.
