CAUTION: This code may be generated in the
Primary or Secondary Powertrain Control Module
(PCM).

Test sequence and decision path
1. Connect the WDS and confirm that P1573 or
P1574 is logged. Note all Logged DTCs and then
clear the DTC memory.
2. Set the datalogger to monitor all Throttle Position
signals on both engine banks.
3. Turn on the ignition and start the datalogger. Press
and release the throttle pedal several times. Stop
the datalogger and analyse the TP traces.
4. If the TP signal traces accurately follow throttle
movements, go to step 5.
If any TP trace does not accurately follow throttle
movement, swap the throttle bodies and repeat
the test.
If the fault swaps to the other engine bank, the
throttle potentiometer is defective. Replace the
throttle body and repeat the throttle position test
to ensure that the problem is resolved.
If the fault remains on the original engine bank,
the throttle circuit is suspect. Service the engine
harness as necessary. Repeat the throttle position
test to ensure that the problem is resolved.
5. Perform an extended road test with a collegue
monitoring all TP readings.
If no fault is identified, the cause of the DTC is
not present at this time.
If any fault is identified, resolve it using the
procedure in step 4.
