NOTE: The evaporative emission control system is
checked by closing the canister vent valve and pulling
a small vacuum in the fuel system. The vapour management valves are then closed and the vacuum is monitored using the fuel tank pressure sensor.

Test sequence and decision path
1. Key off, connect the WDS or scan tool.
Key on, engine off. Check all logged DTCs.
2. Run the WDS Evaporative loss system leak test.
If no fault is detected, go to step 3.
If a leak is detected, check the security and
sealing of the filler cap. If any fault is detected,
service/replace the cap as necessary and run the
leak test again to confirm that the problem is
resolved.
3. Park the vehicle in a quiet place. Use the WDS
component control function to trigger the vapour
management valve on/off (listen for a ‘click’ as
the valve actuates).
If the valve can be heard actuating, go to step 4.
If the valve does not actuate, service the valve or
circuit as necessary. Clear the P1450 code and
run a KOER test to ensure that the problem is
resolved.
4. Use the WDS component control function to trigger the canister vent valve on/off (listen for a
‘click’ as the valve actuates).
If the valve can be heard actuating, go to step 5.
If the valve does not actuate, service the valve or
the cannister vent valve circuit as necessary.
