Manufacturer fault-analysis procedure
Test sequence and decision path
1. Connect the WDS and confirm that P0830 or
P0833 is logged. Clear the logged fault code.
2. Set datalogger to monitor the clutch signals CSTT
and CSBT.
3. Press and release the clutch pedal several times
(Move the pedal maximum up to maximum
down) and monitor the changes in signal level.
If the clutch signal changes accurately follow
clutch pedal movements, go to step 4.
If either signal does not follow pedal movement,
service the relevant wiring as necessary. Repeat
the clutch pedal movement test to ensure that the
problem is resolved.
4. Set the gearshift to neutral. Attempt to start the
engine without pressing the clutch pedal. Then
press the clutch pedal and attempt to start the
engine.
If the engine only starts with the clutch pedal
pressed, the start enable function is operating correctly. Repeat the test several times to ensure that
the vehicle is completely safe and that the problem is resolved.
If the engine starts without pressing the clutch,
check for other relevant fault codes and analyse
the problem to ensure that underbonnet relay 9 is
only energised with the ignition on, the clutch
pressed and the start button pressed.
