Manufacturer fault-analysis procedure
Test sequence and decision path
1. Connect the WDS and confirm that P0826 is
logged.
2. Clear the logged fault code.
3. Start the engine and, whilst stationary, engage
each gear in turn using the shift paddles.
If all gears engage correctly, go to step 4.
If gears do not change correctly, go to step 5.
4. Run a road test in Touchtronic mode. Drive a
route requiring many gearshifts over the complete
gear range.
If all gearshifts are completed, the fault is not
present at this time and testing is complete.
If any gearshift is delayed or if the requested gearshift does not occur, go to step 5.
5. Set WDS to monitor the TIP UP and TIP DOWN
signals. Operate the shift paddles repeatedly and
check that the signals respond to paddle movements.
If both signals respond to paddle actuations, the
fault is not present at this time and testing is complete.
If either signal does not respond, troubleshoot the
paddle switch to PCM circuit and service as necessary. On completion of the servicing, repeat the
signal check to ensure that the problem is
resolved.
Open the corresponding manual page for wiring diagrams and figures
logged.
