What Aston Martin code P0658 means

Transmission Pressure Regulator and Solenoid Voltage Circuit Low

DB9 preliminary diagnostic manual · section 2-158

Manufacturer fault-analysis procedure

Cautions and notes

NOTE: This sensor supply is internal to the TCM. If the
12 volt VBATT signal is within specification and P0657,
58 or 59 is logged, the TCM is faulty.

NOTE: If P0657 is logged and the +12V supply is good,
this may be an indication of an internal mechatronic
unit fault. Replace the mechatronic unit and retest.

Test sequence and decision path

1. Connect the WDS and note all logged DTCs.
Confirm that P0657, P0658 or P0659 is logged.

2. Key off. Access the transmission harness and disconnect the transmisison connector.

3. Key on. Check the voltage from harness connector C0932-14 to C0932-13 and 16.
If +12 volts is measured, go to step 4.
If the +12 volt supply is below specification,
check the battery charging and +12 volt circuit
integrity to C0932-14. Service the charging system or wiring as necessary. Reconnect all components and run a brief road test to ensure that the
problem is resolved.

4. Ignition on. Measure the voltage from C0932-7
and C0932-11 to ground.
If both voltage show 0V, go to step 5
If either voltage is above 0V there is a short circuit
from a voltage source to the transmission harness.
Service the harness as necessary. Reconnect and
retest (KOER).

5. Ignition off. Disconnect C0932. Measure the
resistance from C0932-7 to ground. Also measure
the resistance from C0932-11 to ground. Both
lines should show high resistance (M Ω) to
ground.
If no short to ground is detected, go to step 6.
If either pin shows a short circuit to ground, service the harness as necessary. Reconnect and run a
KOER test to ensure that the problem is resolved.

6. Replace the mechatronic unit and run a KOER
test to ensure that the problem is resolved.
