Manual fault definition
P0452 - This code indicates fuel tank pressure signal out of range low.
Cautions and notes
NOTE: The fuel tank pressure transducer emits a voltage
signal in the range 2.4-2.8 volts at atmospheric pressure.
signal in the range 2.4-2.8 volts at atmospheric pressure.
Test sequence and decision path
1. Remove the fuel filler cap (fuel tank pressure at
atmospheric). Connect the WDS and turn on the
ignition. Monitor the fuel tank pressure transducer signal. The voltage should read 2.4 - 2.8
volts.
If the fuel tank pressure signal does read 2.4 - 2.8
volts at atmospheric pressure, the sensor reading
is in specification, go to the P0446 procedure and
analyse the problem for a blocked fuel tank vent
line or closed canister vent valve.
If the fuel tank pressure signal reads below the
range 2.4 - 2.8 volts at atmospheric pressure, go
to step 2.
2. Key off. Check for the following:
Sensor drenched in liquid fuel
Damaged sensor or connector
If any defect is identified, service as necessary
and run the KOEO test to ensure that the problem
is resolved.
If no defect is identified, go to step 3.
3. Disconnect the sensor. Check for short circuit to
ground from sensor harness connector pin 3 (FTP
signal) and from sensor harness connector pin 1
(+5 volt reference supply).
If a short circuit is detected, repair the wiring as
necessary, reconnect the sensor and run the
KOEO test again to ensure that the problem is
resolved.
If no short circuit is detected, go to step 4.
4. Check the +5V reference supply at the sensor harness connector. Measure from harness connector
pin 1 to chassis ground and from harness connector pin 1 to harness connector pin 2 (signal
return).
If both readings indicate +5 volts, the supplies are
good. Replace the sensor.
If the readings indicate +5V to chassis ground but
0V to signal return, repair the signal return line.
If both readings indicate 0V, repair the fault in the
+5V reference line.
If the reference circuit is good, Contact Aston
Martin Technical Support.
Reconnect all components and run the KOEO test
to ensure that the problem is resolved.
